Cape Canaveral, August 15, 2014 – VDC Display Systems, a division of Video Display Corporation (NASDAQ:VIDE), announced it has completed the initial delivery of Video Display Units (VDU) for the US Army Common Driver Trainer (CDT) Program to Raydon Corporation of Port Orange, FL.
As part of this effort, VDCDS developed and delivered a number of rugged High Resolution Visual Display Systems (HRVDS) for use on CDT systems for Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Variants. for the Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation's (PEO STRI).
The Visual System, when integrated with RAYDON's Common Driver Trainer system, is capable of simulating real world scenarios executing mission procedures in a tactical environment under normal and degraded conditions. The CDT system consists of virtual trainers, which will be used to train members of the armed forces in the operation of the combat vehicles being fielded to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
VDCDS has extensive experience delivering training and simulation visual systems worldwide, currently in use in many commercial and military trainers. The HRVDS is another success story for VDCDS culminating with the delivery of the first sets of systems to RAYDON Corporation.
