Video Display Corp Chosen for Navy MSAT S/N 3 Program Reports successful completion of  MSAT S/N 2 Awarded Contract for MSAT S/N 3 Installation

 

ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Video Display Corporation (NASDAQ: VIDE) announced that its VDC Display Systems division, located in Cape Canaveral, FL has successfully completed the installation of the state of the art visual system solution at the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado located in San Diego, CA in support of Multipurpose Supporting Arms Trainer (MSAT) Program.

 

The Company is pleased to announce it has also been selected for the design and installation of its visual system for the Naval Air Strike and Air Warfare Center located in Fallon, NV.

 

The system will incorporate the ultra high resolution SONY SRX-S105 projectors, a high performance screen plus an advanced auto calibration system for warping, color and edge  blending. The overall objective is to provide an eye limiting stable Primary Visual Display that exceeds training requirements with new and advanced technology having day, twilight, and night capabilities which allow trainees to use actual field equipment and night vision devices to detect targets close to real world environments not possible with other multi-projector solutions.

 

The MSAT training system is intended to provide training for Joint Terminal Air Controllers (JTACs), Forward Air Controllers (FACs), and Forward Observers (FOs) for the tasks of Supporting Arms (SAs) and Close Arms Support (CAS) in staff and joint exercise training events. The MSAT also provides training for Naval Surface Fire (NSF), Tactical Air (TA), artillery, and mortar support in joint expeditionary operations. The MSAT will enable FACs, JTACs, FAC(A)s and FOs to train in stand-alone or interoperable modes without the use of live ammunition or range/training areas. Marcial Vidal, President of VDC Display Systems, commented that “We appreciate the continued confidence that TJ Inc. and NAVAIR has shown in our ability to successfully perform this type of work and look forward to working with them again on this program.”

 

The SRX-S105 projectors are designed to meet many of the specific needs of visualization for Simulation and Command & Control applications. The combination of a very stable dual Xenon arc lamp plus a native resolution of over 8.8 Mega Pixels (4096 x 2160 pixels) enables the SRX-S105 to accommodate extremely high resolution images. The SONY S105 and S110 projectors have been developed to provide a forward looking solution to a wide range of image display applications by utilizing the highest resolution imaging chip available on the market today.
